What to Expect on Your First Visit
Consultation with Dr. Alderman
Once you feel comfortable and at ease, Dr. Alderman will spend time reviewing your medical and dental history. We strive to be as well-informed as possible regarding your oral health. Dr. Alderman might want to start with a Panoramic image, utilizing our state-of-the-art, low radiation Vatech Machine. This machine has the ability to capture a two-dimensional (2-D) dental x-ray examination that captures the entire mouth in a single image, including the teeth, upper and lower jaws, surrounding structures and tissues. He will consult with you about your personal needs, potential dental fears, and long term goals, carefully considering your concerns and explaining your treatment options in a language that is easy to understand.
Examination and X-Rays
Typically, at a first dental appointment, Dr. Alderman will review your health and dental history, X-rays and perform a comprehensive exam of your gums & teeth. He will also conduct an oral cancer exam which may involve examining lymph nodes and tissue around the jaw, chin & neck. If treatment is recommended, He will allow plenty of time to educate & discuss in detail, allowing you as much time as needed to ask questions and feel comfortable with your options.
Our office is unique in the fact that we consist of a small group of staff members who are like family. We are classmates, parents, and friends who share the same desire to help patients feel comfortable and enjoy the dynamics during their visit.
