What Are My Options If I Have Dental Anxiety?

For some patients, scheduling a dental appointment feels simple.
For others, it can feel overwhelming long before they ever walk through the door.

At our small private practice, we understand that dental anxiety is real — and we never want fear to stand between someone and the care they deserve. Oral sedation allows patients to feel deeply relaxed, calm, and comfortable throughout treatment while remaining safely monitored.

A conversation about your concerns, past experiences, and goals.
   • A quick oral         examination
   • Non-invasive X-rays if needed to understand what’s going on

   • A clear discussion of whether oral sedation is the right option for you

Once your treatment plan is reviewed and you feel ready, we will schedule your first visit with oral sedation at a separate appointment. This ensures everything is properly prepared in advance, including reviewing instructions and coordinating any necessary medications prior to your visit.

The day before your procedure, we will meet with you to go over exactly what to expect with both the sedation and the dental treatment. This is also when we provide your oral sedation medication and review step-by-step instructions so you feel fully prepared.

On the day of treatment, our focus is simple: keeping you comfortable, calm, and safely cared for throughout your visit.

Nothing is rushed, and nothing is left unclear. Every step is designed to support you so you can receive the care you need in a way that feels manageable and stress-free.

HOW WILL I FEEL UNDER ORAL CONSCIOUS SEDATION ?

This medication helps reduce anxiety, quiets the nervous system, and creates a state of calm where time often feels like it passes quickly. Most patients report feeling very relaxed, drowsy, and less aware of the sights, sounds, and sensations of the procedure.

Throughout the entire visit, you are continuously monitored to ensure your safety and comfort. Your vital signs are checked, and we adjust our care based on your needs in real time.

Oral conscious sedation is especially helpful for patients who experience dental anxiety, have had difficult past experiences, have a strong gag reflex, or need longer or more complex treatment completed in fewer visits.
